How to delay skin aging

  • Secrets for younger skin:

  • Be very careful with the sun. It is the main cause of premature skin aging, responsible for the appearance of marks and wrinkles. This is why you must always protect your skin, regardless of the season or if you are going for a walk, to practice sport, on your way to work or, obviously, if you are going to sunbathe. Opt for moisturizing creams, makeup or cc creams with sun screen, with a high protection factor if possible, from SPF 30, and always have sun screen to hand for the other delicate areas (neckline, arms and hands).
  • Become a fan of facial cleansing and moisturiser. Your daily routine should include facial cleansing and moisturising twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. It is important to always apply makeup to clean, moisturised skin and not to go to bed without removing your makeup and moisturising your skin. We are not asking a lot of you, just to clean your skin properly (to eliminate contamination) and moisturise it (to avoid dryness), you will notice the difference.
  • Drink water. Avoid wrinkles and losing elasticity, you will notice the difference. Try to drink a litre and a half a day. It will help you to feel better and you will look younger. Word of honour!
  • Take care of your diet: Avoid processed foods that tend to contain a large amount of fat, sugar and sodium, and opt for fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables, protein and nuts. As with everything, find a healthy balance.
  • Sleep. Sleeping approximately 8 hours a day is fundamental, not only for your skin, but also to feel full of energy to face the new day. What’s more, if you sleep well, your face will be more radiant and firm and you will not need to use so much concealer on dark circles under your eyes!
  • Avoid alcohol and tobacco. Tobacco and skin are not great friends as tobacco causes the appearance of premature wrinkles and dehydration. Alcohol causes inflammation throughout the body, including the skin. The effects go beyond dehydration: dull skin, dilated pores, marks, flaccidity and a loss of flexibility…
  • Find your sport. Discover the perfect physical activity for you. You do not have to become a fan of running, you can also walk, practice yoga, pilates, swim or cycle, whatever you feel most comfortable doing. It will help you to strengthen your muscles, bones and heart and you will feel better.
  • Unwind. Experiencing stressful situations during a long period of time is not only bad for our health but also for our skin. In this kind of situation, physical exercise and meditation can be a good way to channel energy.
  • Be happy. It is about an attitude to life, sometimes, a personal decision. It is not possible for everything to always go perfectly but we can focus on the things that make us feel good and not on the things we do not have or that do not work out the way we want them to. Being happy will make you look younger, without a doubt!
